My memory  on this is  we NEVER  had  a numlock problem.   The numlock
modifier works as we would expect.  (Although, perhaps as someone else
might  not  expect.)   We did have   a   2.1.7 modifier problem.   (No
modifiers worked.)  This has since been corrected.
