I disagree. If I say something like this:

  Style "Emacs" Color White/Green
  Style "XTerm" Color White/Blue

it is very reasonable for me to want to also say:

  Style "Emacs" HilightColor White/LightGreen
  Style "XTerm" HilightColor White/LightBlue

I also think this is what an awful lot of people expect to work, and they
struggle for a while with the fact that they can set colors on a per
window basis, but not highlight colors.

I don't see why the font shouldn't be settable per window, though I have
less strong feelings about this.

I've not thought about the icon stuff.
