I'm not exactly sure why (a previous exchange of mails about spawning
execs revealed to me I'm grossly ignorant of the subject), but
ImageMagick works just fine for me (RHLinux4.1, Linux 2.0.30,
fvwm2.0.46) using:

+ "ImageMagick" Exec exec display &

whereas

+ "ImageMagick" Exec display

acts as you describe. Haven't the foggiest regarding the reason for
this.

As for the question that started the thread, it's a shame Wait won't
work under the circumstances.
