Could you check this patch (i.e., use your mailer to save it, and compare it
with the original)? It looks as though your mailer has folded lines, making
it awkward for me to apply. It's possible that it's *my* mailer that's doing
it, of course, but I have reason to think it's not. (Our MTA certainly
doesn't fold lines, and MH is pretty good about not fiddling with things like
that.) The previous version also suffered this fault.

When I save the patch, I get a file of length 30713, which disagrees with size
given in the text of the message.

Now I come to think of it, a likely culprit is the mailing list software.
Perhaps MIME is a bad way of distributing patches? What about uuencoded
patches instead?
