FVWM: Running selected KDE apps together under FVWM

Hello,

I post very rarely, so let me first say thanks to all those who work
on and document FVWM. The steady, low-key development is one of its
best features.

I've been trying out a few KDE applications, such as Konqueror and
Kmail, and am generally quite pleased with them individually. But the
way I'm starting them, from FVWM menu entries like

+ "Konqueror" Exec exec konqueror ~/tmp

they don't really communicate with one another. For example, clicking
on an URL in Kmail doesn't open it in Konqueror. I'm not surprised; I
know I've skipped virtually all of KDE's usual start-up sequence.

The FVWM FAQ explains how to use KDE with FVWM replacing Kwin as the
window manager. This works, but gives me more KDE than I really
want.

Ideally, I'd like the KDE apps to work together more or less as they
do under KDE without starting up KDE per se, with all the icons, task
bars and GUI configurators it brings with it. I hope I'm just missing
some daemon (kdeinit? ksmserver? klaunch? so many pieces...) that
will automagically connect the KDE bits to one another, but maybe
that's too much to ask.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Best regards,
Michael
