At the point where it decided it was using a cross compiler is
where it went wrong.

Look for the first failure.

I assume you are using gcc. Is gcc working?

If you can't find the problem post the command you entered and
all the output.

If you are making changes, be sure to remove the configure.cache
between attempts.
