I get similar symptoms on my home machine but  not on my work machine.
Same config on both.  The one  with the symptoms  is Solaris 2.5.1, the
other 2.6.  (I doubt that has anything to do with it.)
As I said, there are multiple problems outstanding.
I predict, sooner or later, it will be fixed.
Patches are always looked at.
