FVWM: Problems running FVWM

I am a newcomer to fvwm, and I am installing fvwm under SunOS 4.1.4.
Compilation and linking appeared to go fine, however, when I attempt to
run fvwm I get the following error:
    ld.so: Undefined symbol: _sys_nerr
I would appreciate any suggestions, so I could get fvwm up and running.
