no, subsampling is a hell of a job, if it has to look like the original.

don't know, but mangling the X server isn't fvwm's job.
If the event stream doesn't carry the information, fvwm2 is left out in the
rain.

well we could of course hook onto the "redraw" event and do a grab
afterwards, hmmmm. I don't like the idea. Sounds like a CPU hog.
